These are the essential or merely useful things that the baker uses to make his bread. Most of the things on this list are things you probably have sitting in a kitchen drawer or back on a shelf somewhere, maybe gathering a nice coating of dust.
In bread baking, as in many things in life, good tools can make any job a lot easier. You may not think you need them, but once you’ve used good pots, pans, knives, and the like, you’ll realize that you can make better bread, and food in general, with less work and waste. And that’s a good thing. Nobody said that you wouldn’t be able to make a tasty loaf of bread without these kitchen tools, but it would definitely make your job easier. Plus, having a complete set of kitchen tools may also be helpful in the future, should a need for other cooking requirement arise.
In this section, I’ve identified quite a few of these tools, taken some pictures and given you a brief argument for their inclusion in your tool kit. I’m sure you will come up with other things that belong on the list; I can think of a few that I don’t use very much but which are handy to have once or twice a year.
